Discover the ancient art of wet felting and create your own beautiful felt pod or vessel from fine merino wool.
In this hands-on workshop you will:
- Learn the origins of feltmaking
- Explore essential wet felting techniques
- Create a three-dimensional vessel using a resist
Suitable for absolute beginners as well as those with some basic feltmaking experience who would like to move from flat felt into sculptural forms.
By the end of the day, you'll have the skills and confidence to continue making your own vessels and pods using different resist techniques. A detailed handout with instructions, supplier information and book recommendations is included.
Most materials and tools are provided. The workshop fee includes refreshments and $20 worth of fine merino wool.
Please bring:
- An old large towel
- An empty squeeze bottle with a pump top
- Additional merino wool (optional)
- Your own lunch (there are no cafés or shops nearby)
