Discover the art of traditional raranga harakeke in this beginner friendly one day workshop.
You will learn every step involved in weaving a kono (small basket), from understanding tikanga (weaving protocols) and harvesting harakeke to preparing the whenu and completing your very first basket.
With a maximum of four participants, this small-group workshop offers plenty of individual guidance and support, making it ideal for complete beginners.
All materials and tools are provided. Please bring a towel and your lunch. Refreshments and snacks are included.
You will also receive a PDF handout with additional weaving information, including karakia and weaving-related kupu to support your learning beyond the workshop.
