I have developed this one off watercolour series after a visit to the Hokianga Harbor in the far North of New Zealand. The harbor is very tidal and is in ongoing movement, ebbing and flowing into an everchanging seascape. The mood of the habour often changes within minutes due to change of light and the reflections of the enormous sand dunes in the water.
The whenua/soil has been dried, crushed, grinded and mixed into a pasty paint, a natural binder has been added.
